We are open Weekdays 6am - 11pm, and Weekends 6am - 10pm.
What Times Are Classed As Off-Peak?
11am - 4pm & 9pm - 11pm Weekdays
1pm - 10pm Saturdays
11am - 10pm Sundays
Last entry is 45 minutes before closing or before off-peak hours end.
What Are Your Manned Hours?
We do not have specific manned hours. To keep memberships as low as we can, we do not hire staff. Lil GYM is a predominantly unmanned facility but you will still see us around doing inductions, cleaning and generally keeping the place as we want you to find it.
We have other commitments as well as our Women's Personal Training Gym down the road where we run various classes and train our own PT clients. Check out www.thestudioaththemill.co.uk for more info if this sounds more your thing.
This means we cannot be in two places at once, and Lil GYM was created from 12+ years experience as women's gym owners recognising there was a need for a no-frills women's gym that was lacking in this area.
Do You Have Minimum Term Contracts For Memberships?
We have both contract and no-contract memberships so you can choose the best option for you. Our 3 month minimum term option provides a discount from our fully flexible options. We also have annual paid upfront memberships which provide a further discount for those that are keen to commit and save even more.
Is PT Included?
No, we are a simple, no frills gym. We understand that not everyone needs or wants the extras that come with traditional memberships, so we focus on providing a straightforward gym experience while keeping prices as low as we can for everyone.
If PT is what you're after, check out our Women's Personal Training Gym that down the road www.thestudioatthemill.co.uk
Are You Doing Classes?
Yes, we will have two Yoga classes and one, maybe two Pilates classes. We are a small gym so classes will involve blocking access to the gym for members not attending so we are keeping these to a minimum.
Are Classes Included?
No, all classes are PAYG as this allows us to keep memberships as low as possible for everyone who doesn't require classes. Classes are available as either as you book, or as class packs.
When Are Your Classes?
Yoga is 8pm Mondays and 12noon Thursdays. Pilates is yet TBC.
Do You Have To Have A Membership To Attend Yoga & Pilates?
No, classes are available to non-members. You will still need to create an account and book in advance either as pay per class, or by purchasing a class pack.
I'm New To The Gym, Do You Do An Induction?
Yes, all members are offered an optional in-person induction which can be booked at any time via your app. These take around 30 mins, involve a quick tour of the gym, safe usage of the equipment, and a chance to ask any questions.
Do You Provide A Training Plan?
No, but we are looking at remote PT options for members who want a hybrid gym experience while still keeping cost to a minimum.
Can You Pay Per Visit?
Yes, we have Day Passes available at £10.
Can I Do A Trail To See If It's Suitable For Me?
We don't offer trials, but you can purchase a Day Pass to come try us out.
Are There Changing Facilities?
Currently no, but our toilet is plenty big enough for those wanting to get changed. We had an entire room allocated to a changing area, but we decided this space was better used to expand the gym floor area and is now a dedicated room for stretching and floor work.
We will be creating a changing cubicle within our Brew Room are as soon as we know how is being used by our members.
Do You Have Showers?
No, we don't have showers as these are not only costly with water rates, but are predominantly under used, take up a lot of space, and come with high maintenance costs. Something that would have had to be passed on in membership fees.
Can Children Join?
This is something we have looked into extensively. While we do have permission from our insurers to allow u18s onsite, it comes with strict requirements we need to meet in order to comply. These are not things most small gyms can accommodate. We are not willing to go against our insurance to be able to allow this, so we are afraid the answer is No.
Can I Bring My Baby / Child As I Don't Have Babysitters?
We're sorry but No. Gym's can be dangerous places and we would not want any child to get hurt.
All gym insurances have strict conditions around children, including supervision at ALL TIMES either by a parent / guardian, or by a suitably qualified and DBS checked instructor while taking part in specialist children's classes. We don't offer children's classes and while you are working out, you are not able to give your child undivided attention and this is something all insurers require.
So while we understand this causes frustration for many, we will not go against our insurers just to get members in. Unlike many gyms out there, everyone's safety at Lil GYM is more important to us than signing members up, so we apologies but do hope this is understood and respected.
